U.K. CHARTS: KILLERS GO 5 FOR 5

The Killers have gone five for five in the U.K. becoming the first international act to hit #1 on the Official Albums Chart with their first five albums. Wonderful Wonderful (EMI) moved 52,000 album equivalent sales, outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined. The singles side had a much tighter race.

The only other acts to pull of the five-for-five feat are British—Oasis, Coldplay and Arctic Monkeys as well as Keane, though one of their five was an EP.

Other album chart newcomers this week are Van Morrison’s Roll with the Punches (Exile), his 15th Top 10 album, at #4; Enter Shikari’s The Spark (Play It Again Sam) at #5; Black Country Communion’s BCCIV (Mascot) at #7; and The HorrorsV (Wolf Tone/Caroline) at #8.

Last week’s #1, Foo FightersConcrete and Gold (Columbia) dropped to # 2, and Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Atlantic) celebrated its 30th week inside the Top 3 at #3.

Post Malone’s Stoney (Republic) was the week’s greatest gainer, rising 14 places to #19. And his breakthrough single, “Rockstar” f/21 Savage, just missed hitting #1 on the Official Singles Chart.

Sam Smith’s “Too Good at Goodbyes” (Capitol) celebrates a third week at #1 finishing just 693 downloads and streaming equivalents ahead of “Rockstar,” which moves to #2 from #5. Malone’s previous highest charting single in the U.K. was “Congratulations,” which hit #28 earlier this year.

Camila Cabello’s “Havana” rose three slots to #4 and CNCO & Little Mix’s “Reggaeton Lenton (Remix)” was up one to #5. Logic f/Alessia Cara and Khalid’s “1-800-273-8255” hit a new high of #12, rising five places. And Sheeran’s fourth single from ÷ , “Perfect,” jumped to #34 from #79.
