FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Gorillaz lead the charge at iTunes as eight new titles scurry into the Top 10 album chart with another five new releases in slots 11 through 20.

Humanz (Parlophone), the first new album in seven years from Damon Albarn’s animated group Gorillaz takes the top spot at iTunes and #16 on Apple Music. Plenty of veteran acts follow.

Mary J. Blige’s 15th album, Strength of a Woman (Capitol) powers up to #3 followed one slot later by Sylvan Esso’s What Now (Loma Vista). Lea Michele, the powerhouse singer from Glee and the Broadway stage, sees her Columbia release Places take #6.

Shine from Maybach rapper Wale occupies #7 at iTunes but scores the highest debut at Apple Music; it’s currently #10.

Willie Nelson’s ninth album for Sony Legacy, God’s Problem, is #8 and one step beyond that is All That RemainsMadness (Razor &Tie). New Found Glory’s Makes Me Sick (Hopeless) is #10.

New albums from Feist (Interscope), John Mellencamp (Republic), Old Crow Medicine Show (Sony Music Nashville), Trombone Shorty (Blue Note) and The Cranberries (BMG) occupy slots 11 through 20.

On the singles side, "I'm the One," the new DJ Khaled featuring Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Chance the Rapper and Quavo (We the Best/Epic) sits at #1, and the Biebs-enhanced Luis Fonsi smash "Despacito" (Universal Latin) sits at #2. "Thunder" by KidinaKorner/Interscope's Imagine Dragons crashes into the Top 10. Look for other new tracks to invade the leaderboard shortly.
