With Pentatonix occupying three slots in the Top 10 at iTunes, there’s not much room for newcomers this flipover Friday. Republic’s Kid Cudi, though, has powered his way to the top slot with Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’.
Cudi debuts at #4 on the Apple Music album chart, giving Universal Music the top four slots on the streaming service with two from Republic and two from Roc Nation/Interscope. With J. Cole, Drake, Rae Sremmurd, The Weeknd, Amine and Post Malone, the two labels occupy 18 of the Top 20 slots on the Apple Music songs chart.
Back at iTunes, the first album in 16 years from New York hip-hop trio The Lox, Filthy America…The Beautiful (D-Block/Roc Nation/Interscope) locks in at #5 followed by Gucci Mane’s The Return of East Atlanta Santa (WMG) at #6. Michael Giacchino’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Disney) is at #7.
