MIDWEEK CHARTS: KATE BUSH FOR #1?

Kate Bush looks headed for her first Official Albums #1 in 30 years as Before the Dawn (Noble + Brite), the live recording of her 22-night residency at London’s Eventim Apollo in 2014, sits 5k combined sales ahead of Little MixGlory Days (SYCO).

The last Bush album to hit #1 in the U.K. was the career retrospective, The Whole Story, in 1987; she also hit #1 with Never For Ever (1980) and Hounds of Love (1985).

The Weeknd enters at #5 with Starboy (Island), and boasts 18 tracks in the Official Singles Top 100 with the title track rebounding to #3 from #8, “Feel It Coming” at #11, “Party Monster” at #22, “Rockin’” at #29 and “Sidewalks” at #37.

Clean Bandit will likely clock up a fourth week at #1 on the Official Singles list with “Rockabye” f/Anne-Marie and Sean Paul (Atlantic). The track got a boost thanks to a live performance on Sunday night’s X Factor results show. Further down, rising Columbia star Rag’N’Bone Man looks set to make his Top 40 debut with “Human” rising to #9 from #77—thanks in part to a live cover by X Factor contestant Emily Middlemas.
