It was announced on 10/31 that Michael Rapino's Live Nation has finalized a deal to acquire a major stake in AC Entertainment—the live entertainment company that deals with promotion, production, booking and marketing for an array of club and theaters events, concerts and festivals, including the renowned Bonnaroo, which AC co-founded in 2002.
“Ashley [Capps, Founder/CEO of AC Entertainment] and his amazing team have created an impressive roster of live events and developed a strong network and regional expertise that will complement Live Nation’s festival and concert portfolio,” said Bob Roux, Live Nation’s Co-President, North American Concerts. “This new working relationship with AC will offer exciting synergies that will enable us to continue to grow both of our businesses together in the coming years."
The company will continue to maintain Great State Park—where the fest takes place. AC is responsible for more than 1,000 shows a year, including Forescastle, Big Ears and Sloss Music and Arts.
