FLIPOVER FRIDAY: ITUNES AND APPLE MUSIC NEW ARRIVALS

Country music fans are in the buying mood as four of the eight rookies in iTunes’ early morning Top 10 today come from Nashville. Kenny Chesney has the early lead among his peers on flipover Friday, but he’s sitting at #2 on the iTunes album chart.

Meek Mill’s DC4 (Maybach) opens at #1 on flipover Friday, edging Chesney’s Cosmic Hallelujah (Blue Chair/Sony Nashville) at #2 and Jeezy’s Trap or Die 3 (YJ/Def Jam)at #3. DC4 is also the #1 album on Apple Music’s streaming albums chart.

The Stage, a concept album from Capitol’s Avenged Sevenfold debuts at #4, two slots ahead of Sweden’s Tove Lo, whose Lady Wood (Island) is #6.

The other country artists occupy slots 8-10. Kip Moore’s five-song EP Underground (MCA Nashville) digs in at #8; Cole Swindell’s EP Down Home Sessions III (Warner Music Nashville) follows; and Brett Eldredge’s Christmas album Glow (Warner Music Group) is at #10.

YMCMB/Republic’s Drake has two new singles in the Top 5 on the iTunes songs chart: “Fake Love” has hit #2 and “Sneakin’” f/21 Savage is #4. The songs are #1 and #2 on the Apple Music streaming chart.

As her album ascends to #1 on our SPS and Sales charts, Lady Gaga's "Million Reasons" (sung memorably on both James Corden's Carpool Karaoke and the stage of Silver Lake rock club The Satellite this week) now sits at #1 on the singles side.
