TOP 50 SONG REVENUE CHART: WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS
THE ROAD

HITSBuzzAngle-powered Top 50 Song Revenue Chart can now be accessed from the $$$$ drop-down menu, but here’s the link for your convenience.

The Weeknd’s “Starboy” hasn’t yet caught the reigning champ, The Chainsmokers’ “Closer,” but it’s closed the gap from $22k to less than $9k.

The week’s biggest jump—269%, to be specific—was made by Maroon 5’s new single “Don’t Wanna Know.” Although it was only available for one day during the previous week, which renders the uptick that much more dramatic, the track is clearly being readily embraced by streamers and downloaders alike.

Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” generated $36k less than a week ago, typical of the decay following the first-week surge—but the jury’s still out on whether the single has staying power.

The marketshare percentage, shown below, indicates that UMG had an especially strong week—up 11% from the week ending 10/14—as the company notched eight of the top 16 finishers.

Methodology: On-demand audio streams are calculated at an average of .00575 per stream; however, streams from the ad-supported tier are calculated at a lower rate. Track sales are calculated at 70% of retail, with 69-cent and other discount sales pricing factored in.

Top 50 Total Revenue: $2.75 million

Top 50 Share: UMG 46% / SME 25% / WMG 22%
