SPOTIFY STANDINGS: "CLOSER" GETS CLOSER TO CLOSING THE WORLDWIDE STREAMING GAP

The Chainsmokers f/Halsey's "Closer" (Columbia) has been the #1 Most Streamed record in the U.S. for three weeks now. And Major Lazer f/Justin Bieber & MO's "Cold Water" (Mad Decent/Def Jam) has been the top dog globally and in the U.K. for four weeks now. This week, however, "Closer" looks hot on the heels of "Cold"; it was 35.7m streams versus 36.5m streams this week, respectively. For perspective, it was 30.7m versus 37.7m last week.

Could it unseat the Diplo-produced hit from the worldwide throne as soon as next week?
