BASTILLE GOES WILD

Brit band Bastille will release their second album, Wild World, on 9/9 via Ted Cockle’s Virgin EMI in the U.K and Capitol stateside. There are clues the record might be another one of those expensive Apple Music streaming exclusives.

Wild World follows the duo’s debut, Bad Blood, which hit #1 in Blighty and #11 U.S. in 2013. It has since been certified 2x Platinum (600k sales) by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and Gold by the RIAA.

The band have new management this time around in James Sandom and Will Botwin at Red Light, and the duo are highly ambitious. It's going well so far - the first single from Wild World, “Good Grief,” is currently #25 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart after being premiered by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 on 6/16 and released on all digital services. It’s arrived straight on to the A List at Radio 1—a privilege reserved for only the most promising tunes by playlist boss Chris Price. Global’s Capital FM are also on board.

Bastille are directing fans toward Apple Music where preorders open at midnight tonight (7/1). They say the album will be available on "physical, digital + all the rest." Will Spotify be left out in the cold?

This morning—7/1—the band posted online a note about the new album.
