G.O.O.D. Music's Big Sean and Artium's Jhené Aiko are Def Jam label mates and have been collaborating together as far back as 2012, with dozens of notable records including "Beware," "I'm Gonna Be" and "I Know."
Now the two soul superstars are teaming up for an exclusive project together, as they unveil a concept album under the name TWENTY88, set for release this Friday, 4/1.
In a distinctly modern rollout, the project will be streaming exclusively for four days on TIDAL while being simultaneously available for commercial download at iTunes.
Aiko said of the album, “Music now doesn’t really cater to the feelings of a real relationship. It’s all about trapping and bragging. I feel like this project is something that’s needed right now. The whole idea of the man and woman duet. Especially a whole project, is just good for people to see. That duality is a perfect combination.”
TWENTY88 will make their TV debut performance the day before release, 3/31 on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!
