RUBIN TO GET GRAMMY-WEEK LOVE

The Recording Academy's Producers & Engineers Wing will honor Rick Rubin at the org's ninth annual Grammy-week event, which celebrates behind-the-scenes music makers and their efforts and advancements in the pursuit of sound gold.

As always, the event will take place at The Village, Jeff Greenberg's high-end sound emporium—which also happens to be one of Rubin's favorite recording environments—on 2/11/16.

"Rick Rubin has said he has one rule regarding his recording process: 'The only rule is that it's not done until it's great,'" shared NARAS President/CEO Neil Portnow. "His contributions to music and to the artists he's worked with prove that Rick is beyond simply great. He is remarkable. We look forward to celebrating this musical icon and his pioneering career, which continues to inspire and climb to new heights."

Rubin is an eight-time Grammy winner, most recently recognized for his work as a producer on Adele's 21 in 2012. He was named Producer of the Year in 2006 and 2008.

Past honorees include Chris Blackwell, T Bone Burnett, Tom Dowd, Ahmet and Nesuhi Ertegun, Jimmy Iovine, Quincy Jones, Arif Mardin, Nile Rodgers, Al Schmitt, Jerry Wexler and Neil Young.
