SPOTIFY WANTS TO KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT APPLE MUSIC

Commentary

It makes sense, with its user base no doubt sniffing around the shiny new toy of Apple Music, that Spotify took a moment to dip into conversation with its subscribers to find out whether they're planning on tapping that app.

I couldn't help but notice the jealous-boyfriend tone of Spotify's pointed inquiries. Among the things your lover wants to know are how in the feels you are about Apple as a company, and how you heard about Apple Music over the past few weeks.

All I could hear was Alessia Cara singing in my head, "Some girl talking 'bout her haters, she ain't got none."

Spotify also wants you to comment on the design and look (dark, complicated and confusing, or smart, sleek and dynamic; i.e., who is he? ), inquires about your Apple Music trial and pricing perceptions (three months versus one month; i.e. how long will you be dating him?) and. of course, the $64k question of the whole survey: How likely are you to cancel your Spotify subscription in favor of a subscription to Apple Music?

In short, don't be telling Spotify that Apple Music is "just a friend." Say he means nothing to you and it's not what it looks like. Besides, you were thinking of him the whole time.
