BIZ IN THE HOUSE FOR WINEHOUSE DOC

UMG topper Lucian Grainge, Universal U.K. head David Joseph and sisters HAIM sing Amy's praises.

Last night's premiere event for the Amy Winehouse documentary, Amy, at L.A.'s Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel—hosted by UMG ruler Lucian Grainge, CBE, along with UMG and A24 Films, bought the music biz out in force.

Among the British luminaries in attendance were Universal U.K. Chairman/CEO David Joseph (an executive producer on the film); Island U.K. President Darcus Beese, OBE; and Universal Sr. A&R Manager Nick Shymansky. Other high-profile biz participants included UMG's Boyd Muir and Candace Berry, Republic head Monte Lipman, Capitol head Steve Barnett, Interscope topper John Janick, Def Jam chief Steve Bartels, UMe head Bruce Resnikoff, Capitol COO Michelle Jubelirer, Motown leader Ethiopia Habtemariam, Def Jam's No ID, Blue Note President Don Was (who took a turn as DJ), manager/mogul Scooter Braun, UMG's Will Tanous, exec/producers David Foster and Rick Rubin, hit tunesmith Diane Warren and artists The Weeknd, Nick Jonas, HAIM,Alesso and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.

Island U.K. overlord Darcus Beese regales director Asif Kapadia and producer James Gay-Reese with the tale of how he earned his OBE by slaying a dragon.
