WALK OFF THE PLANE

Walk Off the Earth Singer Booted From Flight Due to Two-Year-Old's Crying

Walk Off The Earth’s Sarah Blackwood, traveling to the Columbia band’s sold-out Vancouver concert, was removed from a SkyWest plane (operated by United Airlines) yesterday because her two-year-old son was—wait for it—crying loudly.

According to Blackwood, who is also seven months pregnant with her second child and still on the road doing full-time promotion for Sing It All Away, the band’s sophomore album (due 6/12), by the time the plane returned to the gate and she was escorted off, her son, Giorgio, was fast asleep on her lap. United probably didn’t recognize Blackwood, which is a shame, as her social media account blasted the airline.

Blackwood is now safely in Vancouver and, at the time of this posting, in hour five of a press blitz, including an interview with TMZ and Entertainment Tonight. The story is blowing up on news blogs and the socials.

Walk Off The Earth—pending flight-attendant approval, of course—will perform at L.A.'s El Rey Theatre on 6/2.

In a related story, a hedge-fund manager who cried loudly on a Delta flight was given 100k free miles and bottle of Cristal.
