Winners, Performers and a Big Thank-You to Joe Riccitelli

Taylor Swift led the pack with three wins at last night's second annual iHeartRadio Music Awards. The show, hosted by Jamie Foxx, took place from 8-11pm ET/PT at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium.

The event matched the ratings of last year's inaugural show among viewers 18-49 and added 5.2 million viewers overall (+5%), winning its time slot and giving NBC its best results in that time period since the SNL 40 special on 2/15. NBC won the night among networks with the 18-49 demo.

In their own rendition of cops and robbers, Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson opened the show with a performance of new single "Trouble" with Azalea as the inmate and Hudson as the cuffs-bearing law.Continuing the theme, Nick Jonas appeared on stage shackled in chains to sing his "Jealous" follow-up, "Chains," currently Top 25 at Rhythm radio and #11 at Top 40.

Florida Georgia Line brought a little spring break to the party, chanting "work a little less, play a little more" during "Sun Daze."
Epic
newcomer and breakout sensation Meghan Trainor (pictured right with EVP Promo Todd Glassman and Atom Factory honcho Troy Carter) schooled the boys in treating their women right with "Dear Future Husband." Later, pop veteran Kelly Clarkson belted her heart out on "Heartbeat Song."27-year-old megastar Rihanna performed "Bitch Better Have My Money," off the upcoming R8, for the first time ever fresh out of an onstage helicopter, sporting green fur.

Sam Smith surprised his fans after winning the Best New Artist award with a special, unseen live recording of "Lay Me Down" since he couldn't be there in person due to obligations in Europe. FYI, Smith's debut album, In the Lonely Hour, immediately shot to #2 at iTunes during the telecast. Madonna provided an intimate, acoustic version of "Ghosttown," off her latest chart-topping release, Rebel Heart, featuring none other than Princess Tay Tay on guitar.

Jason Derulo performed "Want to Want Me," which had premiered on dating app Tinder just a few days prior.

Host Foxx performed "You Changed Me" with Chris Brown before fun. frontman Nate Reuss performed his brand new solo single, "Nothing Without Love."

Coincidentally, Snoop Dogg appeared on stage with the legendary Charlie Wilson for "Peaches N Cream" at the exact moment that we finished rolling a peach-flavored Swisher.

OneRepublic frontman and hit songwriter Ryan Tedder announced the winners for Best Fan Army, a fan-voted category that ended up honoring Capitol's Australian buzzband 5 Seconds of Summer.

In the audience, a sunglass-clad Snoop seemed to enjoy the show almost as much as we did, rocking a new hemp-scented cologne that we're told smells like a more expensive version of the air in our conference room.

In an ongoing segment called "My Journey," acclaimed artists shared their breakout stories throughout the broadcast from Nicki Minaj getting her callback to meet with a "Young Money" crew at a young and undiscovered age, Jason Derulo performing his first live song, "Ben" by Michael Jackson, and getting stage fright, Cole Swindell meeting hero Tim McGraw for the first time, to Steven Tyler walking on stage for first time in Yonkers, N.Y. before opening for The Byrds, along with many other stories from Selena Gomez, Foo Fighters, Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, Steve Aoki, Ne-Yo, Imagine Dragons and Azalea.

Justin Timberlake, meanwhile, received the 2015 iHeartRadio Innovator Award from high-fashion designer Tom Ford, who announced, "There are but a few entertainers who have the talent to truly endure and, within that very small group, only the most gifted and innovative have the willingness to take risks, the drive to constantly try new things and the ability to transcend all artistic boundaries. That defines Justin Timberlake."

Timberlake directly thanked Tom Poleman and John Sykes and declared a special thank you to RCA's Peter Edge, Tom Corson and "this is very important, especially Joe Riccitelli," explaining, "You guys don't know this, but there are a bunch of people who bust their asses to get our songs to and on the radio. He's been that guy for me for the last two decades."
