DO IT AGAIN

Brian Wilson is back on Capitol with a brand new studio album, his 11th. The cleverly titled No Pier Pressure drops on 4/7 in standard 13-track and deluxe 16-track versions. Among the contributors to the LP, produced by Joe Thomas at Hollywood’s venerable Ocean Way, are Brian’s former Beach Boys bandmates Al Jardine, David Marks and Blondie Chaplin, as well as Kacey Musgraves, fun.’s Nate Ruess, She & Him’s Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, Capital CitiesSebu Simonian and trumpet master Mark Isham. The core studio band included Don Was, Jim Keltner, Dean Parks and Kenny Aronoff, along with various members of Wilson’s longtime touring band and Matt Jardine (Al’s son) and former bandmate Jeffrey Foskett.

Wilson’s album will hit a week after Ringo Starr’s 18th studio release, Postcards From Paradise, on Ume. The beloved Beatle has no trouble attracting A-list musicians; along with the current lineup of his All Starr BandSteve Lukather, Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie, Richard Page, Warren Ham and Gregg Bissonette—the album’s guest artists include Joe Walsh, Benmont Tench, Dave Stewart, Ann Marie Simpson, Richard Marx, Amy Keys,
