mSpot in the Clouds

GET ON mSPOT'S CLOUD: mSpot is the latest entry in the cloud sweepstakes, allowing you to take any music you own, as long as it’s in an uncrypted file format, and move it to the site’s servers, to play back on whatever device you want. The service is free for the first 2 gigabytes of music you upload, and then charges for additional storage: Another 10 gigabytes (the equivalent of 8,000 songs) costs $2.99, and 100 gigs (80,000 songs) goes for $13.99. The service, introduced by Google at its developer conference last month, at this point, only supports Android handsets, and doesn’t have any licenses with the major labels. Aside from that, it’s ready to go. (6/28a)
