Brian Salutes Gershwin

RHAPSODY IN BRIAN: Plenty of Grammy buzz already surrounding Brian Wilson's upcoming Reimagines Gershwin on Disney Pearl, the Beach Boy founder's tribute to one of his earliest musical influences, which hits retail Aug. 17. Wilson will be on hand tonight in West Hollywood for an exclusive album listening party, where a pristine vinyl copy will be played on the spiffy new Steinway Lyngdorf sound system. Aside from Disney honchos Jim Weatherson and Rob Souriall, the chief architects of the project, Wilson pals Rodney Bingenheimer and Van Dyke Parks are expected to attend. Look for a Brian a capella session as well, with members of his crack band the Wondermints. (7/28p)
