Breyon Prescott to IDJ announcement

CHAMELEON LIVING ON ISLAND: A&R exec/producer Breyon Prescott (Jamie Foxx, Angie Stone, Brandy) will launch his Chameleon Entertainment at IDJ, and he’ll also serve as an exclusive A&R Consultant for Def Jam Recordings. Both announcements were made this morning by UMG East ruler Barry Weiss, to whom Prescott will report. “Breyon is an experienced, smart and effective talent magnet, song maven and creative force," said Weiss. "Having had success for years on the outside, we’re excited to bring him inside at Def Jam so we can all go to the next level together. I really look forward to working closely with him in this effort.” Said Prescott: “I'm excited to be joining the best A&R team in the business and to be working alongside Lucian, Barry, Steve Bartels and Karen Kwak as we discover and develop the next generation of superstars.” The first signing to Chameleon/Island is the debut album from 22-year-old South African singer/songwriter Nikki Williams, who wrote “Fly Away” for the film Country Strong.
