Rosemond Admits Tupac Beating

CONFESSIONS OF A HIP-HOP MOGUL: James Rosemond, aka “Jimmy Henchman,” has reportedly admitted his involvement in the 1994 assault on Tupac Shakur which left the rapper nearly dead at N.Y.’s Quad Recording Studios and precipitated the so-called East Coast-West Coast rap wars that also claimed the life of Biggie Smalls. Chuck Phillips claims the hip-hop mogul made the confession to law enforcement officials last fall during a drug trafficking case involving the use of the Interscope office mailroom. Tupac accused Rosemond of the crime in the song “Against All Odds,” shortly before his 1996 murder in Las Vegas. Rosemond apparently was responsible for forging the false FBI reports cited in Phillips’ 2008 expose which resulted in his being fired by the L.A. Times. Rosemond will not be tried for the Tupac beating since it has long since past the statute of limitations, but faces in life in jail over his recent drug case and was also indicted on a murder-for-hire charge last week.
