CROSSFIRE HURRICANE & OTHER WEATHER SYSTEMS: In other Stones news, Brett Morgen’s narrative of the band’s half century, which now bears the excellent title Crossfire Hurricane, will debut Nov. 15 on HBO and receive a theatrical release in the U.K. before being broadcast on BBC 2. Another doc, a restored version of Peter Whitehead's never-released film The Rolling Stones: Charlie Is My Darling – Ireland 1965, will screen at the New York Film Festival in September before ABKCO releases it on DVD and Blu-ray Nov. 6. Fast-forwarding to last week, the Stones cut two new songs for an upcoming box set at Guillaume Tell Studios near Paris. "Had fun in the Paris studio this week!" Mick Jagger tweeted with a photo surrounded by Telecasters, Stratocasters and harmonicas. "I'd love to get some tracks down and see what songs we've got," Richards told Rolling Stone before the recording sessions. "And that goes along with part of getting the band back together and getting things moving. So I'd love to cut some tracks, yeah." Asked if he saw himself writing one-on-one with Jagger again, Richards said, "I have no doubt." (8/31a)
