Workout top 10

TOP 10 WORKOUT TRACKS FOR SEPTEMBER: This month's top 10 draws heavily from the Top 40, notes Chris Lawhorn, founder of the Run Hundredsite, who compiles these monthly charts from the votes of visitors to the site. Accordingly, it's heavy on pop tunes—albeit from a variety of genres. Gym faves Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown provide the club grooves. Train and Carrie Underwood bring the rock (kinda) and country. Karmin and Ellie Goulding take the remix route. New to these parts are Outasight and Havana Brown. Here's the full list:

Nicki Minaj, “Pound the Alarm”—125 BPM
Chris Brown, “Don't Wake Me Up”—128 BPM
Carrie Underwood, “Blown Away”—138 BPM
Outasight, “Now or Never”—126 BPM
Rihanna, “Where Have You Been (Vice Club Mix)”—127 BPM
Train, “50 Ways to Say Goodbye”—139 BPM
Karmin, “Brokenhearted (Razor N Guido Remix)”—128 BPM
Havana Brown & Pitbull, “We Run the Night”—136 BPM
David Guetta & Usher, “Without You (R3HAB's XS Remix)”—128 BPM
Ellie Goulding, “Lights (MK Charlee Dub)”—125 BPM

We heard the Top 40 hits as well during a recent morning spin at the Toluca Lake Sports Center, although most of them were from other decades: Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting,” Eminem’s “Lose Yourself,” Foster the People’s “Don’t Stop,” Kings of Leon’s “Sex on Fire,” Billy Sqiuer’s “In the Dark” and T.Rex’s “Bang a Gong,” along with a 1997 cult hit—the Dandy Warhols’ “Bohemian Like You.” Different strokes for different folks.
