HITS Daily Double

ANYONE FOR TEA? Here’s the latest stab at a graphic template for breaking out weekly marketshare from our chief (and only) numbers cruncher, whose aesthetic sense leans more toward pocket protectors than Picasso. It clearly shows the benefits of having four Top 15 albums (see yesterday’s marketshare chart for details) and a Top 10 single (Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise featuring Nelly), as Republic does this week. And, as you can see from the Top 10 tracks chart immediately below, Atlantic somehow managed to ride a pair of hit singles from Bruno Mars and Icona Pop—the collective equivalent of 25.5k albums—to second place, despite having zero albums in the Top 10. The label’s highest charters are #12 Paramore (27.5k) and #13 Bruno Mars (25.2k). That was enough to overtake RCA, even with P!nk’s chart-topping single as well as Justin Timberlake at #5 and #17, while their respective albums are both in the Top 10 as well. Go figure. (4/25a)
