More Tony Nominations

MORE TONYS: While Kinky Boots led this morning’s Tony Awards nominations list with a field-leading 13, there were some other notable achievements. Matilda The Musical, with music and lyrics by Aussie Tim Minchin, who memorably starred as drug-addled rocker Atticus Fetch on this past season’s Showtime series Californication, earned a total of 12 nominations, including Best Musical, along with Kinky Boots, Bring It On: The Musical and A Christmas Story, the Musical. Other notes: Phish’s Trey Anastacio and Amanda Green were nominated for Best Original Score for Hands on a Hardbody with Kinky Boots’ Cyndi Lauper, Matilda’s Minchin and A Christmas Story, the Musical’s Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
