GALLO UNCORKED: The Kenny MacPherson-led Big Deal Music continues to staff up, bringing in Greg Gallo as Creative Director in the indie pubco’s Nashville offices, working alongside Dale Bobo and Pete Robinson. Gallo moved to Music City from his hometown of Raleigh, NC, at the ripe old age of 18 to attend Belmont U. and look for a way to get into the music biz, rising from unpaid intern to songplugger, independent publisher and writer manager, picking up a multitude of skills along the way. "We’ve known Greg for quite some time,” noted Robinson and Bobo, the latter taking the high harmony part. “His energy, passion, and knowledge of music, and the scene here in Nashville is unparalleled. We are honored to have him be part of the Big Deal team. And contrary to rumor, we don’t have a spittoon in the office." By the way, Big Deal’s roster now comprises My Morning Jacket, Jim James, The Black Angels, Ethan Johns, Missy Higgins, FIDLAR, The Walkmen, Korey Dane and songwriters Brad Tursi and Lee Anna McCollum.
