TOP 10 TRACKS: Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” which was in the 300ks the last two weeks, topped 400k in the last complete sales week, leading up to reflexively ask, how high can it go before it starts to cool off? The public’s naked lust for this tune matches the sensation we get every time we watch the unrated video. But there are other reasons for retailers and certain lucky labels to celebrate. Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” was up 11% and still got jumped by Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise,” which answered the previous week’s 9% slip with a 19% jump. Both tracks, along with Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” (+5%) stayed gratifyingly north of 200k. As we predicted, Bruno Mars’ latest single, “Treasure” (#12 with 108k the previous week) hit the leaderboard with a healthy 71% sales increase, while fellow Top 10 newcomer Miley Cyrus rolled a +74%, giving the song title “We Can’t Stop” new meaning. Blake Shelton heats up at the climax of The Voice’s season, climbing #11-6 on a +10%.. And Fall Out Boy (+26%, #18-10) continues to bounce like a red rubber ball, returning to the Top 10 for the third time if we’re not mistaken, although we usually are…mistaken, that is.
