TEA

ANYONE FOR TEA? As we told you yesterday, Columbia ran away with new-release share on the week behind the combined sales of multiple albums (see 2/28 item). Team Stringer has also emerged victorious in TEA on the week for the same reason; in other words, a passel of brisk-selling albums is 10 times as valuable as the same number of hit singles. That said, IGA made a strong showing by way of the same albums/singles combo platter that has been driving Jimmy Iovine’s perennial power all summer—namely, Imagine Dragons, Robin Thicke and (to a lesser extent) Gatsby, lately boosted by tracks from Lana Del Rey and Lady Gaga. Take a look at our weekly album sales chart and the top-selling-tracks item below and you’ll get the picture. (8/29a)
