Tattersfield to leave WMG

14TH FLOOR ELEVATOR: Christian Tattersfield, one of the British music industry’s most successful young execs, is leaving his job as Warner Music U.K. CEO in order to pursue an “entrepreneurial” opportunity, Music Week reports, Tattersfield has agreed to stay on until February, and Atlantic U.K. head Max Lousada will become acting co-CEO until then, whereupon Lousada will be solely in command of the company. Tattersfield was appointed CEO of WMG and Chairman of Warner Bros Records U.K. in August 2009, but following WMG's buyout of the Parlophone Label Group, he was made co-Chairman of WBR alongside PLG Chairman Miles Leonard. The latter will now have the job to himself, while retaining his role at Parlophone. In 1997, Tattersfield founded BMG’s NorthWestSide imprint, whose signings included Jay Z and NSYNC. After subsequently joining East West Records as MD, Tattersfield signed David Gray before establishing 14th Floor in 2002, nurturing such acts as Biffy Clyro, The Wombats, Damien Rice and Ray LaMontagne.
