Vibe debuts

BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED: TDE/Interscope’s ScHoolboy Q and Capitol’s Broods are the debut acts in our latest Vibe-Raters roundup of buzzing acts. Rapper ScHoolboy hails from L.A. and (as we may have mentioned once or twice) is part of the Top Dawg set that gave you Kendrick Lamar. His major-label bow streeted this week and zoomed to #1 at iTunes, with a possible Album Chart bow to come. His “Man of the Year” is off and running at Urban and Rhythm radio. His national tour kicks off next week, running through the summer. The kiwi siblings of Broods, meanwhile, are making hay at PoMo radio with “Bridges” ahead of next week’s official target date; they’ve sold 400k as an iTunes Single of the Week. Look for a national tour starting in April. In other Vibe news, Virgin’s Bastille ascends to #1, while Black Magnetic/Epic’s A Great Big World, Barsuk/Republic’s Phantogram, Artium/Def Jam/IDJ’s Jhene Aiko and Epic’s KONGOS are among the other artists moving up. See all the action here. (2/28p)
