Standby/Victory’s Black Veil Brides (#33), Saguard Road’s Marc Cohn (#35), Decca’s David Garrett (#40) and Watertower Music’s Hans Zimmer Inception score soundtrack (#46) all register Top 50 debuts.
Reprise’s Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers lead the double-digit gainers with the critically acclaimed Mojo, moving #31-21, +31% on the week, along with Columbia’s Glee album Journey to Regionals (#39-29, +20%), LaFace/JLG’s Usher (#19-13, +16%) and Hear Music/Concord’s Carole King & James Taylor (#22-20, +13%).
This week’s releases include Warner Bros.’ Avenged Sevenfold, Kedar/Fontana’s Dru Hill, Lost Highway’s Tom Jones gospel album and Atlantic’s Step Up 3D soundtrack. Merge’s eagerly anticipated third Arcade Fire album, The Suburbs, hits on Aug. 3, along with Rap-a-Lot’s Bun B and Eleven Seven’s Buckcherry, while J/RMG's Mike Posner has his debut slated for release on Aug. 10. What promises to be the summer’s next big record, Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream on Capitol/EMI, is now slated for Aug. 24.
