THEIR KINDA PARTY: CMT AWARDS NOMINEES ANNOUNCED

This Year’s Field Is Intriguingly Eclectic, Ranging From Stars Like Aldean and Swift to Envelope-Pushing Up-and-Comers Like The Civil Wars
The nominees for the 2011 CMT Awards were announced this morning on The Today Show, and Jason Aldean leads the pack with four, while The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift and the Zac Brown Band picked up three apiece. Double nominees are Kenny Chesney, Sugarland and Carrie Underwood.

The field is dotted with new faces, including breaking duo The Civil Wars, tattooed Staind frontman Aaron Lewis, Adele, Sheryl Crow and even Justin Bieber, as the face of country music becomes increasingly more inclusive.

The initial noms for Video of the Year will be reduced to five during the live telecast, with final voting at CMT.com and via text messaging during the show. Online fan voting in all 10 categories is open at CMT.com through June 7.
