Springsteen, who endorsed Obama this spring, recently finished a tour with the E Street Band in support of his 2007 album, Magic. On Sunday, it was confirmed the group will play during the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 1 in Tampa, Fla.

Last year, more than 148 million viewers in the U.S. watched Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers play at halftime of the championship game. Other recent acts include Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, U2 and most notoriously, Janet Jackson.

Joel, meanwhile, begins a month-long tour of China, Australia, Japan and New Zealand Nov. 12 in Hong Kong.
