KELLY STILL WANTED

Twilight, Lady GaGa on the Rise, Gorilla Zoe Bows in Top 10, but Clarkson Gets Another Week at #1
Two weeks in a row at #1 certainly doesn’t “Suck.” Not even in this economy.

That’s what RCA/RMG American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson has accomplished with her new album, All I Ever Wanted, which remains at the head of the class on HITS’ Top 50 sales chart, adding another 87k to her total.

It’s enough to keep her ahead of the hard-charging Chop Shop/Atlantic Records Twilight soundtrack, which takes off from the release of the film’s DVD and a new, special edition CD to climb to 78k, a whopping 270% increase, at #2. Now, that’s some sales bite.

Interscope classic rockers U2 remain at #3 with No Line on the Horizon, followed by Def Jam/IDJ R&B sensation The-Dream’s Love vs. Money (#4) and, rounding out the leader board, Jimmy Iovine’s favorite disco diva, Interscope’s Lady GaGa, up another 10% after two consecutive hit singles in “Just Dance” and her latest, “Poker Face,” giving the label chief two of the Top 5.

Big Machine’s Taylor Swift drops out of the Top 5 for the first time since the album’s release last year at #6, with Roadrunner’s Nickelback (#7), Bad Boy/Atlantic’s latest P. Diddy find Gorilla Zoe, the sole newcomer in the Top 10 (#8), Columbia’s Beyonce (#9) and J/RMG’s Jamie Foxx (#10).

The other major chart debut is registered by Capitol’s Portland folk-rockers The Decemberists, whose concept album, The Hazards of Love, enters at #14 with an iTunes exclusive which racked up almost 20k in downloads. The physical release hit stores this week.

Other bows include Warner Bros. Nashville’s Randy Travis (#16) and Reprise’s Static-X (#17).

Arista Nashville country star Carrie Underwood goes #41-13, +55% after her performance on last week’s American Idol. In addition, Taylor Swift’s self-titled debut moves #38-27, +11%.

Hitting retail this week are Disney’s Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack, RCA’s Martina McBride, Moseley Music Group/Interscope’s Keri Hilson and UMe’s Now 30.
