That was enough to unseat Michael Jackson’s This Is It companion piece on Epic, which adds another 202k to its total, soaring over the half-million mark in its second week.
Andrea Bocelli’s Decca holiday set, My Christmas, bows at #3, with debuts from Columbia’s Glee, Vol. 1 soundtrack (#4) and Sony Music’s Now 32 (#5) rounding out the leader board, giving SME boss Rolf Schmidt-Holtz’s team four of this week’s top five albums.
DGC/Interscope’s Weezer at #7 is the other Top 10 newcomer, with Big Machine’s Taylor Swift (#6), Deutsche Grammophon’s Sting (#8), Reprise’s Michael Buble (#9) and Chop Shop/Atlantic’s Twilight Saga: New Moon (#10) the holdovers.
Other Top 50 debuts include Roswell/RCA/RMG’s Foo Fighters (#12), Columbia’s Slayer (#14), RCA/RMG’s Say Anything (#29), RCA/RMG’s Julian Casablancas (#40), Def Jam/IDJ’s Amerie (#46), Suretone’s Shwayze (#48) and Virgin’s The Almost (#50).
Big Machine’s Taylor Swift Holiday Collection (#26) and Redline’s Chickenfoot deluxe Best Buy exclusive (#34) are both re-entries.
The week’s top double-digit mover is RCA/RMG’s resilient Kings of Leon (#30-24, +46%), followed by Universal Republic’s hard-charging Owl City (#19, +25%), Capitol Nashville’s Lady Antebellum (#31-25, +25%), Disney’s Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack (#37-31, +15%), Interscope’s Lady Gaga (#22, +12%) and Broken Bow’s Jason Aldean (#38-32, +12%). Look for plenty of movement on next week’s chart, thanks to tomorrow night’s CMAs awards telecast.
Today’s releases include Island’s Bon Jovi, Jive/JLG’s Britney Spears greatest hits, A&M/Octone’s Flyleaf and a deluxe Hollywood Undead set, Island’s The Killers live CD/DVD, Atlantic’s Switchfoot and DGC/Interscope’s Dashboard Confessional.
