Bands Featured on Latest HITS Vibe-Rater Selection of Breaking Acts
The buzz is on for Crystal Method and Parachute.

Both bands enter the HITS Vibe-Raters chart this week as activity increases with their new albums poised to hit the street.

Crystal Method’s new Divided by Night, the veteran electronica dance duo’s fourth studio album, comes out May 12 on their own indie Tiny e label through UMG’s Fontana, with a pre-order now available at iTunes. The video for the first track, “Down in the New,” premieres on Yahoo! April 21. Look for national tour dates through June 14, with a headlining gig at the Sahara Tent at Coachella this Friday (4/17). “Divided by Night” is already impacting PoMo radio. Look for upcoming covers on DJ Times and Electronic Musician, as well as articles in Big Shot and Spin for the Richard Bishop and Jeff Barnett-managed act. See their Vibe-Raters entry here.

Parachute are based in Charlottesville, VA, where they were discovered by A&R veteran Bruce Flohr for Dave Matthews Band’s Red Light Management. Their debut Mercury release, Losing Sleep, is in the vein of blue-eyed pop-rock bands like Maroon 5, and is set to hit the street May 19. The video for the first single, “She Is Love,” used on a national Nivea TV spot, will premier on VH1 May 4, to coincide with the second phase of the campaign. The song is already heating up at Hot AC and Triple A, and set to cross to Top 40, with stations like WBMX, WKRQ, KUDD, KMXP and KSTP among the early believers. They’ve been opening for O.A.R. through May 14, with headline club dates to follow. See their Vibe-Raters entry here.
