BEATLES (BOX) FOR SALE

Former Epic and Capitol exec Jon Polk (he was EVP/COO during the Slater era) was given a license by Apple Corps to create a special new Beatles package, a companion piece to the remastered catalog.

The resulting Box of Vision (www.BoxOfVision.com) is a 12x12 coffee-table box wrapped in black linen and featuring a new print of the iconic Robert Freeman cover photo of the Beatles that appeared on With the Beatles (U.K.) and Meet the Beatles (U.S.). Facebook regulars have undoubtedly seen an ad for the piece in recent days.

The box sports faux LP spines on three sides, giving the impression that of a stack of Beatles vinyl LPs. Inside are three brand new Beatles books: a 200 page art book containing brand new, LP -sized prints of all of the Fab Four's U.K. and U.S. album artwork, inside and out; a discography book, containing the first side-by-side presentation of the U.K. albums and their U.S. counterparts, with an essay by Beatles authority Bruce Spizer; and a storage book for storing all of the CDs and booklets (and even the soon to come digipaks) for the Beatles core album catalog: all 32 discs through the LOVE album.

The storage book allows you to store, organize and display the catalog across five page spreads—and as with a coin-collector’s album, you can see what’s missing and fill in the holes. No, silly, the box doesn’t contain the actual CDs. You’re gonna need to insert your own as you snag them.
