Newly Named President/COO Gets Into the Fray: Colin Finklestein named EMI President North America
Newly named
EMI Music President/COO
Chris Roling got into the memo game today, outlining the structure of the Operating Board, which is responsible for the day-to-day running of the EMI Music business, as well as naming
Colin Finkelstein President of EMI North America.
Functional Presidents lead the key global functions: A&R Labels, Marketing, Digital & Global Technology, Commercial Development (including Sales and Licensing & Sync) and Catalog (including Studios and Archives).
According to Roling: “They set the shape and direction of the business for the longer term, developing global strategy and seeking value-creating opportunities.”
Four Regional Presidents have been named for North America; UK and Ireland; Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Japan, Asia, Latin America and Australia/New Zealand.
Says Roling: “Their role is to ensure the shorter term delivery of our financial targets in their particular region, to support the business strategy established by the functional management and to coordinate activities across functions locally.” Got it? Good.
Finkelstein, formerly CFO, becomes President of EMI North America.
David Kassler is appointed as President of EMI Music UK and Ireland, with additional responsibility for Global Artist Projects.
Jean-Francois Cecillon becomes President, EMEA, in addition to his international A&R responsibilities.
Adrian Cheesley becomes President of Japan, Asia, Latin America and Australia/New Zealand. He was formerly Managing Director, Rest of Europe, Middle East, Africa.
