It’s time to show some love to two groups that got us shakin’ our groove thing in Vegas (OK, Jesse wasn’t really dancing, but we’re working on that).

WHEELS 2.0 RELIVES ITS YOUTH

Kids These Days Listen to the Darn’dest Things

This week, we get down with the wicked sounds of electropop. As products of the ’80s (yes, we said eighties), we were missin’ the music of our womb days. So this week, we bring you two very talented groups, one a duo from Orange County, the other a trio from right here in L.A. You may remember us buzzin’ about them when we were out at Amplify! a couple of weeks ago, but we thought it was time to show some more love to two groups that got us shakin’ our groove thing (OK, Jesse wasn’t really dancing, but we’re working on that) even in the 110-degree Las Vegas heat. Plus Jeremy Greene, a new artist on MySpace Records, who’s starting to make some serious noise. Keep hittin’ us up at [email protected].

Ultraviolet Sound: Led by the totally bodacious, redheaded bombshell Sarah Hudson, this threesome brings an electrifying energy to their sex-infused stage show. To capture the magic that is Ultraviolet Sound, you must check out a live performance. Sarah engages the audience with her funky groove, while her guitarist and beat maker don’t shy away from the limelight either. With fresh b-boy moves and totally rad beats, the band is sure to have you on your feet. (www.myspace.com/ultravioletsound)

Electric Valentine: This new wave duo composed of Lauren Baird and Chris Quallsis tearing up the dancefloor with catchy tracks like “A Night With You” so don’t keep ‘em waiting. Lauren engages attention from the first note, and it is clear that she possesses raging star power. You can barely take your eyes off of her long enough to watch Chris, but his show is just as impressive. Even more amazing than the live performance is the stereo quality sound that comes from this outfit. Despite her petite stature, Lauren is mysteriously sexy with her short, jet black hair and will leave you betting; “All On Black.”

Jeremy Greene: This pop/R&B phenom from Waterville, ME, signed to MySpace Records is starting to create an enormous buzz online. He has north of 88k friends, 15 million song plays, including nearly 500k for his single “Rain” this month! Jeremy was recently on Living Lohan and is managed by Joe Simpson. Keep your eyes on this one, and look for a big Top 40 push in the near future. (www.myspace.com/jeremygreene)

Last Gang Records’ Terry Lynn: Ahh, the Last Gang guys just keep feeding us massively talented artists who have really cool stuff going on. Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be talking about Terry Lynn, who brings a positive and political message through her music. The environment in which Lynn grew up—Waterhouse, an impoverished neighborhood in Kingston, Jamaica--provides the social backdrop for much of her writing. Her sound has been described as Daft Punk meets Marley meets Malcolm X, and once you hear her music and understand her message, it will truly strike your soul. Terry speaks for those who can’t speak—the poor, the underprivileged and the disenfranchised. Her video for her single “Kingstonlogic,” featuring photography by Peter Dean Rickards of The Afflicted Yard, can be seen online at (www.kingstonlogic.com). Her album, Kingstonlogic 2.0, is set to drop Sept. 23. We love artists who stand for something and have something positive to bring to the scene, and Terry Lynn is doing just that. These Green Eyes: Signed to Ben Goldman’s label, this band has been generating a lot of buzz and momentum.
