Michael Jackson’s never-before-released “This Is It” single will be made available at the stroke of midnight this Sunday evening/Monday morning, at www.MichaelJackson.com.
The brand-new song includes backing vocals by the Jacksons and plays over the closing sequence of the Sony Pictures film, Michael Jackson’s This Is It. It is also included on the two-CD set soundtrack in an original and orchestral version. The artwork for the single, a new photo of Michael taken during the filmed Staples Center rehearsals, will also be revealed at that time.
The Columbia/Epic Label Group soundtrack album comes out internationally on Oct. 26 and in North America the following day to coincide with the worldwide release of the motion picture on Oct. 28 for a limited, two-week engagement.
Disc one features the original album masters of some of Michael's biggest hits such as "Billie Jean," "Smooth Criminal," "Human Nature," and "Thriller" arranged in the same sequence as they appear in the film.
Disc two includes early demo versions of classics "She's Out of My Life," "Wanna Be Startin'," "Somethin'," and "Beat It." This disc also features a recently discovered spoken word poem from Michael Jackson entitled "Planet Earth."
The package also includes a 36-page, commemorative booklet featuring exclusive photos of Michael from his last rehearsal.
