mtvU Awards Ceremony Set to Premiere Tonight, With Showings Across Networks
MTV’s giving it that old college try.

The 2008 mtvU Woodie Awards will premiere tonight at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) on mtvU, mtvU.com and in hi-def on Palladia.

Check the “Woodies” site here for more info. Look for the one-hour Best of Woodies Special to run on MTV2 (11/21, 7 p.m., with repeats on 11/22 @ 11 p.m. and 11/23 @ 3 a.m.), MTV (11/22 at 10 p.m.) and throughout the week of Nov. 24 on MTV Hits.

The show is being streamed at soundtrack.mtv.com.

Look for individual performances featuring Vampire Weekend, Chromeo and Santogold on the Woodies Special on Subterranean (11/20 @ 1 a.m.), MTV Hits (week of 11/24), MTV Jams (week of 11/24, with Asher Roth, the Cool Kids, Q-Tip), Tr3s (week of 11/24) and mtv.com (on main page, starting today and the playlist section of Music Hub Thursday).

Best Video Woodie (Best Video of the Year): Motion City Soundtrack, “It Had to be You” (Epitaph Records)

The Good Woodie (Greatest Social Impact): Jack’s Mannequin (Warner Bros Records) (“Dear Jack Foundation” established by lead singer Andrew McMahon, a leukemia survivor, raises money and awareness for cancer research)

Performing Woodie (Best Tour): Atmosphere (Rhymesayers Entertainment)

College Radio Woodie (Best Campus Radio Station): 91.7 FM, WICB Ithaca College
