TWITCHELL SETS SALES AT SBMG

The veteran sales exec is newly annointed SBMG EVP Sales J. J. Schaidler's first personnel move since being named to her post.

Twitchell is upped to SVP/GM Channel Marketing and Partnerships for SBMG Sales, based in N.Y. and reporting to Schaidler.

Twitchell's responsibilities will include channel marketing, overseeing the sales marketing team and serving as the company’s chief liaison to key partners in the retail, digital and mobile environments, as well as with the labels and divisions, expanding digital and physical sales efforts and maximizing retail exposure for music group artists.

Said Schaidler: "Kevin brings extensive experience, deep knowledge and genuine passion to the job will be a great asset to our entire organization. He is highly respected both inside the organization and within the account base, making him uniquely qualified for this central role. And he brews a mean cup of java, which doesn't hurt."

Twitchell was most recently SVP Sales for RCA Music Group, where he oversaw distribution, sales and marketing for RCA, Arista and J Records. Before that, he was SVP Sales for RCA Records and London Sire Records. He worked in national sales for Interscope Geffen A&M and also held various distribution, sales and marketing positions in the Universal Music and Video Division. He started his music business career at MCA Records in 1988.

Kevin is a graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
