DMB’S MARCHING TO TOP

Dave Matthews Band Eyes 375-400k in First Week, 311, Taking Back Sunday Next
Hell, we don’t know what the album title means, either.

Still, whatever the hell it does mean, Dave Matthews Band’s new RCA album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, its tribute to late sax player LeRoi Moore, who passed away last year, will easily top next week’s HITS sales chart, with a target range of between 375-400k.

Funny the way that is.

Eminem’s two-week reign at #1 will come to a close faster than Bruno’s rump hit his puss, but he’ll still have enough to finish at #2.

Volcano/JLG’s 311 should debut at #3 in its first week, with a total of 70k, give or take, meaning Barry WeissJLG/RMG group will boast two of the top three albums.

Long Island emo-rockers Taking Back Sunday’s latest WB effort, New Again, their first new studio album in three years, should do around 40-45k, while Epitaph’s veteran Bay Area punks Rancid eye between 25-30k for its new one, Let the Dominoes Fall, their first in nearly six years, since Indestructible on WB.

Elvis Costello surfaces on Hear Music/Concord Music Group for his latest neo-Americana effort, Secret, Profane & Sugarcane, which will debut with 15-20k, the same range as Walt Disney’s Mitchel Musso, best known for his role as Oliver Oken in Hannah Montana.

The market was down 12% vs. last week, down 20% vs. same week last year and still down 13% year to date.

We now return you to wondering whether Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag will appear on another episode of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here. Hey, we’re not even a celebrity, and we want out of there.
