Universal Republic Records is bolstering its promotion team by promoting several existing staffers and hiring additional executives, label President Monte Lipman announced today. The revamped department, headed up by SVP Promotion and Artist Development Joel Klaiman, is already reaping rewards, with breakthrough artists like Amy Winehouse and Shop Boyz, and ongoing success with heartland rock band Hinder.
Said Lipman: “The restructuring of our executive, home and field offices has strengthened our strategic mission and secured even greater opportunities for our artists. I applaud Joel Klaiman and the entire staff for their exemplary performance throughout this transition, and look forward to future successes with this remarkable team.”
Commented Klaiman: “With our realignment completed, our entire department is focused on garnering maximum exposure for our artists. Each member of our staff will now play a critical role in extending the impact of our great roster at radio, video and online.”
Key promotion staffers include VP Promotion and Sports Marketing David Nathan, VP Crossover Promotion Gary Spangler and VP Rock Promotion Dave Downey. Joining the staff are new hired Alisa Applegate, who’s appointed Associate Director of Crossover Promotion, and Risa Matsuki, who’s named Director of Triple A Promotion.
