The rest of the Top 10 features holdovers like Star Trak/Interscope’s Robin Thicke (#6), Jive/ZLG’s Justin Timberlake (#7), Capitol’s Corinne Bailey Rae (#8), Open Wide/Monument/Columbia’s Grammy-dominating Dixie Chicks (#9) and Atlantic’s posthumous Gerald Levert album, In My Songs (#10).
Tooth & Nail/EMI Christian emo rockers Anberlin are the other top chart newcomers at #15, followed by fellow Christian artist Tobymac on EMI Christian Music Group’s Forefront Records label at #19.
A&M/Interscope diva Fergie’s The Dutchess is the week’s top gainer, moving #20-11, up 20%. Other chart movers include Capitol’s Lily Allen (#40-20, +9%), Big Machine’s Taylor Swift (#44-32), Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls soundtrack on Atlantic (#42-34), Manhattan Blue Note Label Group’s Celtic Woman (#50-42) and Virgin’s 30 Seconds to Mars (#49-44), climbing on the back of the hit single, “The Kill.”
If you’re looking for some relief, March 6 is the date to circle on your calendar, with Epic’s Modest Mouse, Virgin's Korn Unplugged, Merge’s Arcade Fire, Wind-up’s Finger Eleven and Capitol’s Relient K coming in like a rock & roll lion.
