TOBY’S BIG DOG ON CHARTS

Country Star Scores #1 Album, Fabolous Debuts #2, DJ Khaled #5
Toby Keith’s bark proves as good as his retail bite this week, with his Showdog Nashville/UMGD album, Big Dog Daddy, debuting at #1 scoring 205k in sales.

Def Jam/IDJ rap icon FabolousFrom Nothin’ to Somethin’ offers a little somethin’-somethin, with a #2 bow good for 151k.

Koch New Orleans native hip-hop guru DJ Khaled is the other Top 5 newcomer, with 83k sales for We the Best, good for #5.

Among the Top 10 holdovers, Hear Music/Concord’s Paul McCartney rides strong second-week sales into #3, followed by A&M/Octone’s Maroon 5 at #4.

WB’s Linkin Park is up one spot to #6, followed by Def Jam/IDJ’s Rihanna (#7), Jive/ZLG’s T-Pain (#8), Universal Republic’s Amy Winehouse (up 15% at #9) and Jive/ZLG’s R. Kelly (#10).

Other chart newcomers include Rhino/WSM’s Traveling Wilburys CD/DVD set (#11), WB’s Instant Karma Amnesty International John Lennon tribute for Darfur (#14), Interscope’s Queens of the Stone Age (#17), Fueled by Ramen’s Paramore (#18), Atlantic’s Eddie & Gerald Levert (#19) and Def Jam’s DMX greatest hits (#27). Hollywood’s Plain White T’s returns to the charts to #44, with a 50% increase, thanks to massive airplay for “Hey There Delilah.”

Reprise’s Michael Buble leads the double-digit gainers with +25% (#15), followed by A&M/Interscope’s Fergie (+20%, #21), Roadrunner’s Nickelback (+23%, #30), Curb’s Tim McGraw (+24%, #33), Lyric Street’s Rascal Flatts (+15%, #37) and Walt Disney’s Hannah Montana (+12%, #38).

Island’s Bon Jovi, SBMG Nashville’s Brad Paisley, WB’s White Stripes, Universal Republic’s Shop Boyz, Jive/ZLG’s Huey and Geffen’s Lifehouse lead today’s releases in-stores.
