Forming the most potent sibling combo since the Coens, Avery Lipman has been named Co-President of the label by UMRG Chairman Mel Lewinter and his bro, President/CEO Monte.
Lipman had served as Senior Vice President of the label.
Along with Monte, Mr. Lipman will oversee the management and creative operations of the label, which features Amy Winehouse, Jack Johnson, Colbie Caillat, Hinder, Mika, Damian Marley, Godsmack, 3 Doors Down and India Arie, among many others.

Lipman began his music industry career in the Business Affairs department of Arista Records. In 1990, he was appointed Director of Business Administration for Sony Music International. Along with brother Monte, he co-founded Republic Records, leaving Sony in 1998 to become GM of Republic, and in January 2000, when the label became an imprint of Universal Records, he was named Republic's SVP. Subsequently, in 2006, Mr. Lipman was named to a similar post at the newly established Universal Republic Records.
