Riccitelli Gets EVP Stripes at Zomba Label Group
Here’s one promotion that ain’t no jive.

Joe Riccitelli is named Executive Vice President of Pop Promotion for the Zomba Label Group by ZLG boss Barry Weiss, to whom he’ll report.

In this role, Joe will continue to oversee the Pop Promotion department, including the CHR Pop, Rhythmic, Rock and Adult formats, along with related video promotion, and will work closely with Weiss in developing promotion campaigns for Zomba’s artists and projects.

Said Weiss: “Joe’s expertise and capabilities in the field of promotion are second-to-none. He has an outstanding track record of major promotion successes across a broad range of musical genres. Over the past seven years, Joe has been instrumental in developing and managing our pop promotion staff as we have transformed from a leading independent label into a major label record company.”

Riccitelli joined Jive Records in January, 1999 as SVP Pop Promotion. He has created and executed successful radio promotion campaigns for artists such as Britney Spears, Usher, R. Kelly, Nick Lachey, Backstreet Boys, Chris Brown, Ciara and Three Days Grace. Most recently, Joe has spearheaded the very successful, ongoing promotion thrust for Justin Timberlake’s new album, FutureSex/LoveSounds.

Prior to joining Jive/Zomba, Joe worked at Island Records as SVP Pop Promotion from 1995 to 1999. He was integral in the development and success of many artists including U2, The Cranberries and Melissa Etheridge.

He began his music career at PolyGram Records in 1986, where he held various positions in the Promotion Department at both the local and national levels, before moving to Island Records in 1995.

Commenting on his promotion, Joe stated, “Being a senior executive at one of the most successful record companies over the past seven years has been truly satisfying. I have been privileged to work with Barry Weiss and our great roster of artists. I look forward to continuing to guide the best pop Promotion staff in the business.”

Riccitelli was last spotted buying Britney Spears a round of drinks at the Pure nightclub on New Year’s Eve.
