Olesen will oversee the direction of the Top 40 promotion staff and the execution of the department’s programs at all levels, including the development and implementation of promotional strategies at radio and at the street level on behalf of new and established IDJ artists without spending more than $150 to take a station PD to dinner. The N.Y.-based exec will report to Thompson via IM.

Olesen had been VP Promotion for IDJ since 2004 following a four year stint as VP Pop Promotion. He came to IDJ from Elektra Records where he was Sr. Director of Pop Promotion. He began his career in music at Elektra in 1998, as an assistant to regional positions in
