AGNEW RAISED TO PRESIDENT AT DISNEY RECORDS

Cavallo Also Taps Vet as EVP/GM of Newly Minted Disney Music Group
He's no nattering nabob of negativity, even if his name is Agnew.

David Agnew has been promoted to President of Walt Disney Records and Executive Vice President/General Manager of the newly coined Disney Music Group by DMG Chairman Bob Cavallo. Disney Music Group is the new name of the Buena Vista Music Group.

He now gets a year's membership in Disneyland's Club 33 and Hannah Montana's cell phone number.

Said Cavallo: “The Disney Music Group recently has experienced unprecedented success across all our business units. David’s leadership and business acumen have played a key role in the growth of DMG, including our new concert division which he helped to create. His expanded role will help ensure our continued success. And now all he has to do is dress like one of the Seven Dwarfs for a week and he's in.”

Added Agnew: “I am honored to take on a new leadership role as President of Walt Disney Records, a company that has been the market-leader in family music for over 50 years. I am thrilled to continue working closely with Bob and the entire DMG team during this critical time in the music industry. I look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, especially meeting the great Michael Eisner. Whaddaya mean he doesn't work here anymore?”

Based in Burbank, and reporting to Cavallo, Agnew will continue to direct the efforts and day-to-day activities of the Disney Music Group on a worldwide basis. The Disney Music Group is comprised of Walt Disney Records, Hollywood Records, Lyric Street Records and Walt Disney Music Publishing.

Agnew has held various executive positions at Disney since 1998, most recently overseeing Walt Disney Records and Walt Disney Music Publishing in his capacity as Executive EVP/GM of the previously named BVMG. He is also responsible for DMG's business & legal affairs department, human resources, physical & digital production and international business.

From 1994-'98, Agnew worked at Sony Music Entertainment, as an attorney and business affairs executive. He began his career in 1992 as an associate in the music department of the law firms of Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp and Dewey Cheatham & Howe.

Agnew holds a BA degree from Georgetown University, a JD from Columbia University and spent a year studying philosophy and theology at Oxford University, which serves him absolutely no use at all in his new job.
