ANDREW KRONFELD UPPED TO GM AT UNIVERSAL MOTOWN
RECORDS GROUP

That’s General Manager, Not General Motors (Even Though It's Motown), As Exec Continues to Market Stars, Not Cars
Universal Motown Records Group has promoted Andrew “Wrath of” Kronfeld to General Manger, it was announced today by Universal Motown Chairman Mel Levinter, Universal President Monte Lipman and Motown President/Universal Exec. VP Sylvia Rhone. Kronfeld was previously Executive VP of Motown Universal.

"Since joining Universal Motown, Andrew has not only demonstrated true leadership in a variety of situations, but an unwavering commitment to our artists," said Lewinter. "We are delighted to expand the playing field for him even further with this well deserved promotion."

"We are very pleased that Andrew has agreed to take on this new role," commented Rhone. "Having worked in many different facets of the industry, both here and abroad, Andrew is uniquely qualified for this position, bringing with him a wealth of industry knowledge, talent and true creativity."

"It has been a pleasure to watch Andrew grow into this role over the last several years," remarked Lipman. "As our company continues to evolve dramatically, Andrew has played an increasingly important role in helping us manage our daily activities, and now, as he moves up to his new post, his expertise, insight, and sensitivity to the needs of our artists will be invaluable."

"I am thankful to [UMG Chairman/CEO] Doug Morris, Mel, Monte and Sylvia for this opportunity," added Kronfeld. "Moving ahead, our goals are clear: to expand our musically diverse company, while fostering a creative environment where artists can thrive and where employees can reach their career potential."

Kronfeld joined Universal Motown as Senior Vice President of International in 2001. Prior to joining the company, Kronfeld served as Vice President of International Marketing for Universal Music International in London, where he was responsible for marketing a diverse roster of talent, including Sheryl Crow, Andrea Boccelli, Shania Twain, Nelly, Erykah Badu and Jay-Z, among many others. He also previously served as VP of Marketing for Island Records USA, where he worked with artists including U2, Melissa Etheridge and The Cranberries.
